About the Train the Trainer Program
What it is
The Statewide Cash for College Train the Trainer Program provides new and existing partners with the training and ready-to-use resources to host their own workshops. Sessions help students complete the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the Chafee Grant for Foster Youth.
Why join
- Make a difference: Guide students through FAFSA or CADAA so they can access the aid they need and make informed decisions.
- Be a community leader: Plan and host Cash for College workshops tailored to your students and families.
- Gain recognition: Earn a certificate from CSAC that confirms your expertise and authorizes you to host workshops.
Become a Cash for College Community Champion
- Attend the free training. Join a 3-hour online session to learn how to organize and facilitate effective financial aid workshops.
- Earn your certification. Complete a short post-training survey to receive your official certificate from CSAC.
- Register and host.Register your organization in the Cash for College Workshop Management System (WMS).
- Schedule and host workshops to support students and families with their applications.
- Report and connect. After each event, submit attendee information to CSAC at cashforcollege@csac.ca.gov to ensure participants are tracked.
